Weisser Riesling

Weisser Riesling

The first vines of this white grape variety, which is particularly famous in Germany, were planted at Schlossgut Bachtobel in the 1990s. White Riesling is another name for (Rhine) Riesling. The “sweet and sour” combination in this wine is striking, with some unfermented sugar always being left to balance its pronounced acidity. That is why the alcohol content of White Riesling is very low, rarely exceeding 10.5% vol.

We like our Riesling best two years after bottling. With increasing maturity it develops the typical petrol taste of Riesling which is much appreciated by some connoisseurs.
