Verjus

Verjus, the juice from unripe green grapes (jus vert) was an important flavouring ingredient in the Middle Ages, until it was replaced with the advent of the lemon. Our Verjus comes from handpicked Pinot Noir and Müller Thurgau grapes. Their finely acidic, aromatic juice is gently pressed, filtered and pasteurised. Verjus can be used for everything which needs a mildly acidic flavour. Less harsh than vinegar and more aromatic than lemon juice, this balsamic-fruity seasoning can be used to enhance the flavour of almost any food.
