Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris

It seems as if in every typical Pinot Gris you can smell a hint of fresh bread. There is also almost certain to be a scent of redcurrants. Pinot Gris grapes usually have a very high sugar content, which results in a strong, high-alcohol wine. To avoid the wine becoming too heavy, only part of the juice is fermented in used wooden casks, maturing on yeast, while the rest is fermented in steel tanks. Only traces of the oak wood aroma are detectable to the nose and palate. To preserve freshness, we sometimes avoid malolactic fermentation.
